How well do most of you think you know me? I'm guessing pretty well. Very few know me to the extent they think that they do. I'm going to share some things with everyone that even my siblings don't even know about. Why? Very few people actually know what makes me tick. Why I have the mannerisms I have, why I approach things the way that I do. I'll help solve a few of these mysteries, and hopefully get some people to leave me alone lol.
We all have phobias. I actually have quite the extensive list. Mine are as follows:
thalassophobia, agoraphobia, Enochlophobia, Coulrophobia , Claustrophobia, Acrophobia,Cleisiophobia, Neophobia those are just a few of the phobias that I endure on a daily basis. Not sure what they are? Google.
I don't trust people. I find that people, no matter how friendly they may be, will throw you under the bus if it suits them. I have found that your friends from childhood are the most reliable, most trustworthy friends you have. I can count them on one hand. They know my darkest secrets, yet, choose not to share them with the world, or use them for evil. We laugh together, cry together, comfort one another in times of need and never expect anything in return.
I suffer from depression on a daily basis. Bet most of you didn't know that either. I have PTSD, and some days it makes living a "normal" life, if there is such a thing, difficult, however I choose to endure what I am handed everyday without medication, as I feel we are an over medicated society, and I do just fine. As the Beatles once said, "I get by with a little help from my friends". The same ones that hold the secrets to my being. J, R, T, B and D. You know who you are :)
I am an Atheist. In my years as a public servant and with my scientific studies, I have seen things that no one should have to see, and the questions that I have posed of religion, no one has been able to answer. That being said, I am married to a Roman Catholic. It works out fine. We celebrate Christmas, though I do not celebrate it for the same reason christians do. I believe in the spirit of love and giving, but not the religious conotations. I don't knock you for being a christian, don't knock me for being an Atheist. To each his own.
I feel we are all different. Once we learn to embrace those differences, we will be complete as people. I dislike people for who they are, not what they are. It is unfair to judge someone because of race, religion or sexual orientation. Dislike them because they are an asshole, not because they are something else.
There. Hope that answers some of your questions.

Well said SJ. Those of us that that suffer from PTSD know what it is like to walk in a different world.
ReplyDeleteThat being said as a fellow public servant we the true warriors know this. We do not go to work every day for money, or for some bullshit sense of entitlement that comes from the label of success that others feel they have the right to slap on those they feel are worthy. We get up and put on our gun (or bunker gear or whatever) and we wonder out into the world of wolves and sheep. We take the abuse of the general public who does not understand us. They don't understand saying like to make peace prepare for war. They don't understand that the day we walk out the door and say the wolf will not come to day we become the sheep. Yes I get weird looks on the gun range. They ask if I am preparing for competition or some sport. Answer: No you dumb ass I'm a gun fighter by trade. There may be a lot of other parts to this job but that is what gets me home at night.
So to all the people that feel they need (or deserve) an explanation of who we are or why we do what we do like sit in a public place never with our back to the door all I hear when they talk is "baaa".
That's just my opinion...I could be wrong (or not)
